19th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (C) – August 11, 2019

Again we remind you that this weekend’s second collection is for the CATHOLIC CANADIAN MISSIONS AND PARTNER MISSION DIOCESES. Kindly use the proper envelopes from your box of donation envelopes. Your generous help is always greatly appreciated.

The annual MASS FOR THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED hosted by Catholic Cemeteries of the Toronto Archdiocese will be celebrated this Wednesday, August 14, in the 7 Catholic cemeteries in our archdiocese. The masses start at 6:30 pm and everyone is cordially invited.

This Wednesday, the regular FATIMA DEVOTIONS begin at 6:30 p.m, followed by holy Eucharist at 7:00 p.m. Prayer requests left at Our Lady’s shrine in the “Intentions Box” will be included in our prayers and Mass intentions.

The KNIGHT OF COLUMBUS are hosting another barbeque in the parking lot on Sunday, August 18 after the 10:30 am Mass and 12:15 pm Mass. Tickets are $7.00 and include a hamburger or hotdog, a drink & a bag of chips. All proceed will go towards the Roof renovation. We hope to see you all there!

Finally, the next BAPTISM CELEBRATION is on Saturday, August 17 at 10:30 am. We request parents and godparents to arrive 10 minutes early for briefing.


18th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (C) – August 04, 2019

Members of our LORD’S FLOCK PRAYER GROUP are reminded that there will be a special prayer meeting this weekend.

(Tomorrow) Monday is a CIVIC HOLIDAY. Daily Mass is at 9.00 am and both the church and the office will be closed for the rest of the day. We wish everyone a blessed and happy holiday.

This Wednesday, the regular FATIMA DEVOTIONS begin at 6:30 p.m, followed by holy Eucharist at 7:00 p.m. Prayer requests left at Our Lady’s shrine in the “Intentions Box” will be included in our prayers and Mass intentions.

The KNIGHTS OF COLOMBUS are hosting another barbeque in the lot on Sunday, August 18 after the 10:30 am Mass and 12:15 pm Mass. Tickets are $7.00 and include a hamburger or hotdog, a drink & a bag of chips. All proceed will go towards the Roof renovation. We hope to see you all there!

A gentle reminder that at all of next weekend’s Masses there will be a second collection in support of CATHOLIC MISSIONS IN CANADA. Please use the proper envelopes for this collection that are in your personal box of donation envelopes. Your generous help is always greatly appreciated.


16th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (C) – July 21, 2019

This weekend’s second collection is for the parish’s Renovations Fund. We thank you in advance for your generous support.

This Sunday, July 21st the KNIGHT OF COLUMBUS are hosting a barbecue in the parking lot. Tickets are $7.00 and include a hamburger or hotdog, a drink & a bag of chips. All proceed will go towards the Roof renovation. We hope to see you all there!

The next INFANT JESUS NOVENA is this Wednesday. The Holy Hour begins at 5:30 pm followed by the regular FATIMA DEVOTIONS. Holy Eucharist commences at 7:00 p.m. As always, prayer requests and intentions left at the intentions box here at the altar will be included in our Mass intentions.

Another reminder parishioners are kindly asked to inform the parish office of any changes to their personal INFORMATION DATA, such as: home address, house or phone number, street name or postal code. Your cooperation will help us keep our records updated and correct. Newcomers to the parish are very welcome to register with us. Finally, we thank all parishioners who supported the Raffle tickets that we held over the course of the previous weeks. The winners were Elena Smith 1st prize, Paula Ignacio 2nd prize, and Magdalena Aguada 3rd prize. All winners were asked to pick-up their prizes during office hours. 15th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (C) – July 14, 2019

Our parish’s community of Secular Carmelites is hosting the solemn feast in honor of OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL this Tuesday, July 16. There will be a morning Mass at 8 am as usual. Evening devotions begin at 6:15 pm and include the Rosary and Evening Prayer followed by holy Mass. All are very welcome to attend for fellowship in the church hall after the service.

Parishioners are kindly asked to inform the parish office of any changes to their personal INFORMATION DATA, such as: home address, house or phone number, street name or postal code. Finally, on Monday, July 8th Fr. Dominic will celebrate his 47th year of priesthood. May God reward him for his ongoing ministry, and continue to bless him with wisdom and good health. We are thankful for his service, and we pray that the good Lord will continue to guide him as he pastors to our people.


13th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (C) – June 30, 2019

Please note that due to the long holiday weekend there is no LORD’S FLOCK PRAYER MEETING this Sunday. On Monday – CANADA DAY – our daily Mass is at 9.00 am and both the church and the office will be closed all day. Please be aware that the lines in the parking lot are scheduled to be repainted on this day, therefore there will not be any parking spaces available. Thank you for your cooperation.

The schedule for the SUMMER OFFICE HOURS becomes effective this Tuesday and continues through the months of July and August. Please check details in the bulletin and kindly respect the schedule.

This Friday is FIRST FRIDAY. Devotions begin at 12.15 pm and include the Angelus prayer, the Divine Mercy chaplet and holy Mass. Eucharistic adoration continues through the afternoon. Evening devotions at 6.30 pm include the chaplet, other prayers and Benediction. Mass at 7.00 will conclude the day’s devotions.

Next weekend our parish will be participating in this year’s MISSIONS CO-OP program of the Archdiocese. Next weekend, Fr. Linus Kinyua will be sharing his missionary experiences of his ministry in Meru. A second collection will be taken in all of next weekend Masses in support of this missionary work. Donation envelopes are available at all church entrances.

And finally a word of thanks to our musical director, choristers and musicians involved in our parish’s music ministry as they take their well-deserved summer break. The next INFANT JESUS NOVENA is this Wednesday. The Holy Hour begins at 5:30 pm followed by the regular FATIMA DEVOTIONS and Holy Eucharist at 7:00 pm.

Another Bible Study hosted by Fr. Dominic will be on Friday June 28, 2019 at 7:30 pm in the church hall. We are all encouraged to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity that he is offering for us.

THE MOST HOLY TRINITY SUNDAY- June 16, 2019

Congratulations to all the candidates who received the sacrament of Confirmation last Thursday. A word of thanks to their families, school teachers and catechists who prepared them well and supported them throughout their preparation. Guided by the Spirit of God, may they all live up their mission to witness and proclaim the saving love of God.

The two Catholic schools in our parish will have their end-of-the-year/GRADUATION MASSES this week. The celebration for students and staff from Our Lady of Fatima School will take place this Wednesday at 9:00 am. St. Joachim’s School celebrates their Mass at 9:15 am on Thursday June 20. Both celebrations will take place here in the church.

The SUMMER OFFICE HOURS come into effect on Tuesday, July 2nd and through the months of July and August. Check the parish website: www.fatimashrine.ca for further information. We kindly ask everyone to respect this schedule.

Finally, we extend good wishes for a happy and blessed day to all fathers here present as we celebrate Father’s Day. Let us keep them all in our prayers and pray also for grand-dads, godfathers and our priests, who are still with us or have been called ‘home’ with our heavenly Father. Thank you.


PENTECOST SUNDAY- June 09, 2019

A reminder that today’s second collection is for the St. Vincent de Paul summer experience for girls, known as the MARYGROVE CAMP.

On behalf of SHARELIFE, we thank parishioners who made contributions toward this year’s campaign. Others who have not yet done so still have the opportunity to consider supporting the work of our Catholic agencies by making a contribution before July 31st. All donations are greatly appreciated.

This Thursday, 76 youth will be receiving the sacrament of CONFIRMATION in our parish. The celebration begins at 6:30 pm, presided by His Excellency Bishop Vincent Nguyen. Candidates and sponsors are asked to meet in the church hall at 5:30 pm to pick up their gowns and prepare for their entrance procession. Any guests visiting are kindly asked to be seated in the church by 6:15 pm. Following the celebration, all confirmandi are to return their gowns to the church hall and collect their certificates.

Fr. Dominic will be hosting another Bible study session in the church hall this Friday, June 14th at 7:30 pm. All are invited to attend. We are all encouraged to take advantage of this amazing opportunity to gain more insight into the loving Word of God.


THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD-June 02, 2019

Please note that this weekend’s 2nd collection is our 3rd offering for this year’s ShareLife Campaign. We thank you those who have already made a contribution and we appreciate any additional offerings toward the charitable works of this archdiocesan organization.

Candidates in our CONFIRMATION PROGRAM are reminded that they must return the completed sponsor forms to the office, as soon as possible. A rehearsal for this year’s ceremony will take place in the church on June 10 at 9:30 to 10:00 am arranged by the schools. CONFIRMATION DAY is on Thursday, June 13 and the celebration begins at 6.30 pm.

This Friday is First Friday. Devotions start at 12:15 pm in the afternoon followed by Holy Eucharist at 12:30 pm. All are encouraged to spend some time in silent adoration during the afternoon hours and early evening hours. Evening devotions will start at 6:30 pm followed by holy Mass at 7:00 pm.

The Catholic Women’s League will have their next monthly meeting next Saturday, June 8th at 2:00 pm in the church hall. All members are encouraged to attend.

There will be a second collection next weekend for the St. Vincent de Paul summer experience for girls known as the MARYGROVE CAMP offering. 6th EASTER SUNDAY(C) – May 26, 2019

Today’s second collection is for the POPE’S PASTORAL WORKS. Funds will be passed on to the Holy Father to allocate to charities, including victims of war, famine and natural disasters. In the name of Catholics everywhere, he displays Christ’s love, mercy and compassion for all those who suffer.

Finally, next Sunday is ASCENSION SUNDAY. At all of next weekend’s Masses there will be a second collection for SHARELIFE, our third offering in this year’s campaign. 5th EASTER SUNDAY(C) – May 19, 2019

This weekend’s 2nd collection is for the parish’s ROOF REPLACEMENT FUND. Thank you for all your generous support.

This Monday is the VICTORIA DAY public holiday. The parish Office will be closed all day. Holy Mass will be at 9:00 am. The church will also be closed for the rest of the day afterwards.

The next INFANT JESUS NOVENA will be this Wednesday. The prayer hour begins at 6:00 pm. The regular Wednesday devotions begin at 6:30 pm as usual. Prayer requests left at Our Lady’s shrine in the “Intentions Box” will be included in our prayers and Mass intentions.

Our parish is pleased to welcome VERY REV. FATHER PROVINCIAL JUAN DEBONO, OCD from Malta. He will be visiting our community for the next three weeks. We are blessed to have this opportunity to benefit from his wisdom and service, On Friday, May 24, he will give a talk about St. Elizabeth of the Trinity entitled “How can we benefit from her love to Jesus”. It will take place from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm in the church hall. All are welcome and encouraged to attend this wonderful event.

Students in the Confirmation class are reminded that their next meeting will be on Saturday, May 25th at 2:30 pm in the church hall. Sponsor letters are to be submitted on this date.

Lastly, we will have a second collection at all of next weekend’s Masses in support of the POPE’S PASTORAL WORKS. Offerings will be directed to the Holy Father’s works of charity. Please use the envelopes available from your donation boxes. Thank you.


4th EASTER SUNDAY(C) – May 12, 2019

We invite everyone to join us for the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) installation of officers during the 10:30 am Sunday Mass. All members and their families are encouraged to attend. Thank you and keep them in your prayers.

Congratulations to all the boys and girls who celebrated their FIRST HOLY COMMUNION in our parish this weekend. We hope that all of them will continue to regularly share with us in the Eucharist. Parents are kindly asked to visit the office, during office hours, to order copies of the group photo.

A word of THANKS from our hard-working Organizer and volunteers for your presence and participation in last weekend SPRING DINNER AND DANCE FUNDRAISING. We are very grateful to all who supported this most enjoyable event. Proceeds from the event will be directed towards the Roof Renovation Funds.

On Monday (tomorrow) our parish celebrates the feast day of OUR LADY OF FATIMA. We have a morning celebration at 8 o’clock which includes Holy Mass and the Rosary. Evening devotions begin at 6:30 pm with the Rosary & Liturgy of the Hours followed by Holy Eucharist at 7:00 pm. All are encouraged to participate.

This Wednesday morning, Grade 10 students from Jean Vanier Catholic High School will gather in our hall for a retreat. In the evening, the regular FATIMA DEVOTIONS begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by holy Eucharist at 7:00 p.m. Prayer requests left at Our Lady’s shrine in the “Intentions Box” will be included in our prayers and Mass intentions.

Next weekend is VICTORIA DAY WEEKEND. As it is the long-holiday weekend, there are no Confirmation classes or Children’s Liturgy meetings. The Lord’s Flock will not have prayer meeting on Sunday. Kindly note that at all masses, there will be a 2nd collection at all Masses for church’s Roof Renovations Fund. We thank you in advance for your generosity.

3rd EASTER SUNDAY(C) – May 05, 2019

Once again, today’s 2nd collection is the parish’s second contribution to the SHARELIFE CAMPAIGN. We thank you in advance for your generosity and support. Candidates on the Confirmation program are reminded that they have NO CLASS for the coming two Saturdays.

This month’s meeting for our SECULAR CARMELITES will take place this Monday, May 6th in our church hall. The group of aspirants will meet at 6:30 p.m. and the community meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Holy Mass for students and faculty of St. Joachim Elementary School will take place in here in the church on Thursday, May 9 at 9:15 a.m.

On Wednesday, the regular FATIMA DEVOTIONS begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by holy Eucharist at 7:00 p.m. Prayer requests left at Our Lady’s shrine in the “Intentions Box” will be included in our prayers and Mass intentions.

Fr. Dominic will be hosting another Bible study session this Friday, May 10th at 7:30 p.m. in the church hall. All are invited to attend. We are all encouraged to take advantage of this amazing opportunity to gain more insight of the loving Word of God.

On Saturday, May 11, Cardinal Collins will ordain four men to the Priesthood. The Ordination takes place at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend. The night before, your presence is also welcome at St. Michael’s Cathedral for the Ordination Prayer Vigil, when we pray as a community before the Blessed Sacrament for the men being ordained. The Vigil takes place Friday, May 10 from 6 p.m. to midnight. You are welcome to stay for any length of time, and the Cardinal will be speaking.

On Saturday, May 11th our parish will celebrate FIRST HOLY COMMUNION for 75 boys & girls from Catholic and other Schools. Children should be in the church hall by not later than 1:15 pm. Holy Eucharist starts promptly at 1:30 pm. There will be NO Children’s Liturgy on the following Sunday (May 12th). Kindly remember them in your prayers.

A final reminder that the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) are at the back of the church selling raffle tickets. You may purchase 1 ticket for $ 2 or 3 tickets for $5. At the end of the 12:15 pm Mass on Mothers’ Day (May 12), the winners of 5 gift baskets will be drawn. The CWL will have their meeting on Saturday, May 11th, at 2 pmin the church hall.


2nd EASTER SUNDAY(C) – April 28, 2019

A reminder that First Communion / Confirmation CLASSES & CHILDREN’S LITURGY resumed this weekend after the short break for Easter. They are now in the final phases of preparation. Please keep all candidates in your prayers.

On Wednesday, the regular FATIMA DEVOTIONS begin at 6:30 pm, followed by holy Eucharist at 7:00 pm. Prayer requests left at Our Lady’s shrine in the “Intentions Box” will be included in our prayers and Mass intentions.

This Friday is First Friday. Devotions start at 12:15 pm with the Angelus prayer, Divine Mercy chaplet, holy Mass and silent Eucharistic adoration throughout the afternoon and evening. Holy Mass at 7:00 pm concludes the day’s devotions. All are encouraged to spend some time in silent adoration during the afternoon hours.

Cardinal Collins has designated Friday, May 3rd as the DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS IN THE ARCHDIOCESE. May we all pray for more vocations to the priesthood, the diaconate and the religious life.

At the back of the church today, the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) are selling raffle tickets. You may purchase 1 ticket for $ 2 or 3 tickets for $5. At the end of the 12:15 pm Mass on Mothers’ Day (May 12), the winners of 5 gift baskets will be drawn.

This is the last opportunity to purchase tickets from volunteers at the back of the church for the upcoming Spring Dinner and Dance taking place next weekend (May 4th) at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $25 each, and all proceeds will be directed towards our roof renovations.

EASTER SUNDAY(C) – April 21, 2019

Today’s second collection is our EASTER GIFT to the parish. Thank you so much for your constant and generous support. There is no CHILDREN’S LITURGY this weekend.

A reminder that there are no CHILDREN’S LITURGY, FIRST HOLY COMMUNION, AND CONFIRMATION classes this weekend. They will all resume next week. Grade 7 students in our Confirmation program will have their retreat this Saturday, April 27th at 9 AM in the church hall.

On Monday – EASTER MONDAY –there will be a celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 9 AM. Kindly note that the church and office will be closed for the rest of the day on Easter Monday.

At the back of the church today, the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) are selling raffle tickets. At the end of the 12:15 PM Mass on Mothers’ Day (May 12), the winners of 5 gift baskets will be drawn. You may purchase 1 ticket for $2, or 3 tickets for $5. Other volunteers continue to sell tickets for the upcoming Spring Dinner and Dance taking place on May 4th at 6 PM. Tickets are $25 each, and all proceeds will be directed towards our roof renovations.

PALM SUNDAY OF THE LORD’S PASSION (C) – April 14, 2019

A gentle reminder that at the end of Mass today, when all ministers and servers have returned to the sacristy, the Ushers will be giving out BLESSED PALMS to those present who desire them. Ushers have been instructed to give one palm to each person. Please approach the ushers in an orderly manner. Thank you for your cooperation.

This Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock, His Eminence Cardinal Collins will preside at the CHRISM MASS at St. Michael’s Cathedral, during which the oils that are used in the celebration of various sacraments after Easter are blessed. All are very welcome to attend. Also this Tuesday, April 16 at 7:00 p.m., we are invited to participate in the feast of the SEDER, the foundational background of our Eucharistic celebration. We encourage you to participate in this time of fellowship in our church hall. Light refreshments will be served after praying the Stations of the Cross.

Our parish’s celebration of Holy Thursday’s MASS OF THE LORD’S LAST SUPPER begins at 7.30 pm. On GOOD FRIDAY, we have two celebrations of the LORD’S PASSION AND DEATH, the first one starting at 12:00 noon and the second one at 3:00 pm. The STATIONS OF THE CROSS are prayed at 7:00 pm. Due to the Easter Weekend, the OFFICE will be closed from this Thursday [Holy Thursday] afternoon until Tuesday, April 22nd.

A gentle reminder that there is a special collection on GOOD FRIDAY for the NEEDS OF THE CHURCH IN THE HOLY LAND. Funds collected are used for the upkeep of the sanctuaries, to help pastoral works, and to schools and other social work carried out by the Catholic Church in these territories. Use the envelopes in your box of donation envelopes or pick one up from the tables at all church entrances. God will surely reward your generous hearts.

Next Sunday is Easter. We remind parents that there are no classes for FIRST COMMUNION and CONFIRMATION, and there is no CHILDREN’S LITURGY on Easter Sunday.

Lastly, volunteers are at the back of the church selling tickets for our upcoming Spring DINNER & DANCE FUNDRAISER on Saturday, May 4th at 6:00 pm. We hope you will be able to join us at this event. 5th SUNDAY OF LENT (C) – April 07, 2019

Last weekend our parish’s first contribution to this year’s SHARELIFE CAMPAIGN was $6,939.75. Our suggested goal for the parish is $37,300. Thank you very much for your generosity. Kindly remember that donations to this campaign may be made at any time.

On this 5th Sunday of Lent, our RCIA candidates will celebrate the 3rd Scrutinies during the 10:30 a.m. Mass. This is the final step in their preparation before their Reception into full communion in this Catholic community during the Easter Vigil. Kindly keep them and their families in your prayers.

Congratulations to the brothers of KNIGHT OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL #16989 for their 1st year anniversary in our parish community. Let’s continue to pray for them and their families for all the hard work, dedication and support that they provide to our parish.

The SECULAR CARMELITES will have their monthly meeting this Monday, April 15 at 7:30 pm after the Holy Eucharist in the church hall.

On Tuesday, April 16 at 7:00 p.m., we are invited to participate in the feast of the SEDER, the foundational background of our Eucharistic celebration. We encourage you to participate in this time of fellowship in our church hall. Light refreshments will be served after praying the Stations of the Cross.

The Catholic Women’s League will have their next monthly meeting next Saturday, April 13th at 2:00 pm, in the church hall. All members are encouraged to attend.

This year’s HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE is available as an insert in this week’s bulletin. We encourage all to pick up a copy on your way out after Mass to help you schedule your participation in these special liturgies and celebrations.

HOLY WEEK begins next Sunday with the Liturgy of the Passion and Palm Sunday. The solemn blessing of palms will take place at the beginning of the Saturday 4.30 pm Mass. The Blessing of Palms and an indoor Procession will also introduce the 10.30 am Mass, which the children in our 1st Communion class and the Children’s Liturgy will participate in.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society would like to express their gratitude to all who participated in their BUNDLE UP appeal last weekend. The truck left our premises on Monday morning completely full. Once again, we ask everyone kindly not to leave more bundles at church entrances for the time being.

3rd SUNDAY OF LENT (C) – March 24, 2019

This Sunday [today] candidates in our RCIA program will be presented to the community during the 12:15 p.m. Mass as we celebrate the 1st Scrutinies. Please continue to keep them in your prayers.

This weekend, classes in the CONFIRMATION and FIRST HOLY COMMUNION programs and CHILDREN’S LITURGY meetings resume according to schedule. The next break will be for the Easter weekend.

Kindly note that this is the St. Vincent de Paul BUNDLE UP WEEKEND. The container is parked by the rectory in the parking lot. It is open during the day only. Please do not leave bundles on the outside of the container.

1st SUNDAY OF LENT (C) – March 10, 2019

This Sunday afternoon, our RCIA candidates, their sponsors and families will take part in the RITE OF ELECTION presided by Bishop Vincent Nguyen at St. Joseph’s Parish starting at 2:00 pm. This faith community is again invited to pray for all four of our candidates whose names will be inscribed in the Book of the Elect.

A sincere thanks to all the Brother Knights, their wives and family, to the ladies of the Catholic Women’s League, and to the many volunteers who helped make last week’s breakfast/brunch a huge success. The Knights would also like to thank DANIEL ONYSCHUK and the lovely Morgan 9-year-old girl who both did a fantastic job. We appreciate all the parishioners who attended and to the many others who, though not able to participate, gave donations instead. The proceeds will be distributed between the parish’s repair and renovation funds, the Catholic Women’s League to help them in establishing their group, and to the Knights of Columbus so that they may be able to host more events and charitable works.

8th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (C) – March 03, 2019

Next weekend there are NO CLASSES for Confirmation or First Communion and NO Children’s Liturgy due to the schools’ March Break. They will return on Sunday, March 23rd at 10:30 a.m. Mass.

This Wednesday is ASH WEDNESDAYa day of fasting and abstinence at the beginning of the penitential season of Lent. There will be a Eucharist celebration at 12:30 pm in the afternoon. In the evening, Stations of the Cross begin at 6:30 pm followed by Holy Mass. The blessing and imposition of ashes will be celebrated during both the noon and evening Masses. The schedule for celebrations throughout the weeks of Lent is posted in the bulletin.

On Friday, March 8 at 7:00 pm, Fr. Dominic will be giving a LENTEN REFLECTION here in our church. We encourage parishioners not to miss this opportunity of grace and conversion. A reminder also that throughout the holy season of Lent we pray the STATIONS OF THE CROSS every Friday at 6.30 pm.

The annual prayer service marking the WORLD DAY OF PRAYER will be held here in our Church. The service begins at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 9th and members from other Christian communities in our area will also be attending. This year’s theme is: “Come, Everything is Ready” and was written by the World Day Committee of Slovenia. More information is in this week’s bulletin and posted on all bulletin boards. All are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served after the service.

Next Sunday, Bishop Vincent Nguyen will preside at the RITE OF ELECTION for candidates in RCIA programs from our region. This will take place at St. Joseph’s Parish at 200 Morris Rd. Highland Creek starting at 2:00 pm. Candidates, their sponsors and their families are all welcome to attend. Again, we ask parishioners to keep all candidates in their prayers as they continue their preparation.

This will be the final weekend that volunteers will be at the back of the Church with the 2018 TAX RECEIPTS. After this weekend, parishioners may only pick up their copies from the parish office during office hours.


6th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (C) – February 17, 2019

This weekend’s second collection is for the parish’s Renovations Fund. We thank you in advance for your generous support.

Kindly note that this weekend – the Family Day long weekend – there are no meetings for the RCIA, Children’s Liturgy or The Lord’s Flock groups; and there are no classes in the First Holy Communion & Confirmation programs. They will all resume next weekend. The 2019 tax receipts are also not available for pick up at the back of the church; volunteers will return next weekend or you may pick them up in the office during office hours during the week.

A reminder that on Monday – FAMILY DAY – our morning Mass will be at 9.00 am and that both the church and the office will be closed all day. However, the OCDS Community will celebrate their Canonical Mass at 6:30 pm. All are welcome to attend.

5th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (C) – February 10, 2019

As we continue to enjoy celebrating MARRIAGE SUNDAY, let us keep all married couples and those couples preparing for marriage in our prayers. We wish them all a pleasant and happy day.

On Tuesday at 9:15 a.m., the staff and students from Our Lady of Fatima Elementary School will celebrate their monthly school Mass here in the church. All are welcome to attend. The Mass for students and faculty of St. Joachim Elementary School will take place in the school’s gym this Thursday at 9:15 a.m.

Volunteers are at the back of the church this weekend with the 2018 tax receipts. They may also be picked up from the office on weekdays during office hours. At this time, we also remind any parishioners who have yet to collect their box of 2019 donation envelopes that they too are still available for pick up from the office. Any families who have recently moved into the area are encouraged to register with our parish and request their own box of donation envelopes. The annual WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY comes to a close this Sunday [today] with an Ecumenical Prayer Service at St. James Anglican Cathedral at 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

The Fatima ‘FITNESS AND FUN’ Line Dancing sessions, hosted by the social committee, are back every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Church hall. All are welcome to attend. Admission is $5 per person and takes place each week. All proceeds are put towards the Renovations Fund.

As usual, every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. the Regular Fatima Devotions will be celebrated. Holy Eucharist follows the Rosary at 7:00 p.m., and all prayer requests placed in the Offerings Box will be included in our mass intentions.

Lastly, we are sad to announce that Fr. Fryderyk has concluded his assignment at our parish. It has been a blessing to have his service over the past several months, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors. We pray that God continues to watch over him and assists him in carrying out his evangelical mission to all of God’s people. Thank you.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION classes for children in public schools are now held every Sunday in the church hall at 9:30 am. MARY, MOTHER OF GOD [A] – January 01, 2019

Kindly note that during all of this weekend’s Masses we have a 2nd collection – the yearly Octave of Christmas offering – for the needs of the parish. Please start using the new donation envelopes for 2019 today. In addition, quite a few boxes of the 2019 DONATION ENVELOPES are still uncollected at the back of the church. Kindly pick them up at your earliest convenience and contact the office as soon as possible with any changes or updates to your personal data as we will soon start working of the tax receipts for 2018. Please be aware that our new system is unable to issue a tax donations receipt to donors who have no envelope number or are registered with incomplete information.

A well-deserved word of Thanks to all volunteers and other parishioners who supported and prepared last night’s New Year’s Eve End of the year Fellowship. It was a really enjoyable night and, thanks to the few who worked hard behind the scenes and contributed their time and energy, it was indeed very successful.

On Wednesday we celebrate the Feast of the Infant Jesus. Prayers and adoration begin at 6:00 pm. Celebration of the Holy Eucharist beings at 7:00 pm and this is followed by a time of fellowship in the church hall. On Thursday, the parish office will reopen for its Regular Office Hours.

This Friday is First Friday. Devotions start at 12:15 in the afternoon and Holy Eucharist at 12:30 pm. Adoration follows through the afternoon and early evening. Evening devotions will be at 6:30 followed by holy Mass at 7:00 pm. We remind candidates in our RCIA program that meetings resume next Saturday at 10:00 am in the church hall. Children’s Liturgy sessions resume on Sunday, January 15 and the Seniors Activities Club will get back together in our church hall on Thursday, January 12.

THE HOLY FAMILY OF JESUS, MARY & JOSEPH (C) – December 30, 2018

This weekend, we extend wishes for a happy day to all families on this feast of the HOLY FAMILY. May they be blessed and strong in their unity and strive to imitate the holy family we honor today of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

Kindly note that this Monday [tomorrow] the office will only be open for the morning. It will return to regular hours on Thursday, January 3rd. Many thanks to parishioners who have already picked up their box of the 2019 DONATION ENVELOPES; those remaining are on the tables at the back of the church. Please contact the parish office as soon as possible with any changes or updates to your personal data before we start preparing the 2018 tax receipts.

On Monday – New Year’s Eve – there will be a morning Mass at 8 o’clock. pm. The END-OF-THE-YEAR Thanksgiving Mass will be at 11:15 pm followed by fellowship in the church hall, light refreshments will be served.

Tuesday is NEW YEAR’S DAYthe Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, and the World Day of Prayer for Peace. Masses will be celebrated at 9:30 am and 11:00 am. The collection during the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day Masses is the yearly OCTAVE OF CHRISTMAS offering for the needs of the parish. The new donation envelopes for 2019 will start being used on that day.

Next Sunday, January 6 is the FEAST OF THE EPIPHANY. The SENIORS CLUB resume their activities in our church hall on Thursday, January 10, meetings for candidates in our RCIA program will resume on Saturday, January 12. Lastly, the CHILDREN’S LITURGY sessions begin again on Sunday, January 13.

Finally, on behalf of the entire parish community, we would like to wish our beloved Fr. Dominic a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY. THE NATIVITY OF THE LORD (C) – December 25, 2018

A reminder that on CHRISTMAS DAY (tomorrow) Masses will be at 9.30 am and 11.00 am. There are no earlier or later Masses. In addition, the PARISH OFFICE is closed for the holidays; it will re-open on Thursday and Friday mornings only.

Due to the Boxing Day holiday, the regular Wednesday devotions will instead be celebrated at 9.00 a.m. The SOCK DRIVE by the Knights of Columbus ends this coming weekend.

4th SUNDAY OF ADVENT (C) – December 23, 2018

The Knights of Columbus would like to thank all parishioners who contributed to the annual SOCK DRIVE, a campaign that is now nearing its end. God will certainly bless and reward your generous hearts. The winning ticket in the Nativity Creche RAFFLE was drawn at the end of the Children Christmas Party two Sundays ago, and the prize has been collected. The winning ticket number will be published in our bulletin next Sunday.

The boxes for the 2019 DONATION ENVELOPES are ready for pick-up. They are at the back of the church, sorted out in trays, in alphabetical order, according to the family’s last name. These will be used as of January 1st, 2019.

A reminder that on MondayChristmas Eve – we have morning Mass at 8:00 am as usual. In the evening, the Family Mass will be at 6:00 pm; the Christmas Vigil Mass starts at 9:00 pm, and then Mass of the Nativity of the Lord begins at midnight. There will be carol singing thirty minutes before each Mass by one of our three choirs. Kindly note that at all of these Masses there will be a 2nd special collection known as the Christmas Offeringyour Christmas gift to our church and parish. On Christmas Day – next Tuesday – we have two Mass celebrations: at 9:30 and 11:00 am. We look forward to celebrating the coming of our Savior with you in the coming days!

3rd SUNDAY OF ADVENT (C) – December 16, 2018

A word of THANKS to our hard-working Social Committee members and volunteers for their collaboration in putting together last weekend’s amazing CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY. We are very grateful to all those who supported this enjoyable event.

Over the coming days, the church will celebrate a Christmas Novena of Masses in our ongoing preparation for Christmas. Devotions begin at 6:30 pm every evening and include the Rosary, novena prayers, and Holy Eucharist. There will be a time of fellowship afterwards in the hall, except for today, December 15th.

The Christmas Schedule of festive liturgies is now posted on our website and on all church bulletin boards; some extra copies are available at church entrances. In addition, copies of the People’s Sunday Missal are still available from our custodian at the back of the church.

This week in the Archdiocese we celebrate the Week of Confession. We are all encouraged to experience the deep joy of forgiveness and inner peace in the sacrament of reconciliation as we continue our Advent journey. Reconciliation will be taking place in our parish from Monday, December 17 until Wednesday, December 19, between 5:00 and 7:00 pm.

This weekend, volunteers are again at the back of the church selling tickets for our Christmas fund-raiser. The SOCK DRIVE by the Knights of Columbus is still in progress and will go on through the Advent season. They also are selling religious Christmas cards and tickets for the Nativity Creche raffle which will be raffled during the children christmas party. Some copies of the People’s Sunday Missal are still available from our custodian.

This Wednesday is the feast day of OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE. We will celebrate this memorial during our evening devotions followed by Holy Eucharist at 7.00 pm. Prayer requests and intentions left in the offerings box will be included in our prayer and Mass intentions.

On Friday, we celebrate the solemn feast of ST. JOHN OF THE CROSS, Doctor of the Church and co-founder, with St. Teresa of Avila, of the Discalced Carmelite Order. There is a morning mass at 8 o’clock as usual. Parishioners, especially our Secular Carmelites, are encouraged to attend.

The last session of our R.C.I.A. PROGRAM will be on Saturday, December 15 at 10.00 am in the stage room in our church hall. This will conclude this calendar year’s sessions. Classes will resume on January 12th, 2019.

Our office staff are currently preparing the 2019 DONATION ENVELOPES. Parishioners are kindly asked to inform the office, as soon as possible, of changes to their personal data. It is imperative that information in our computer database is correct and up-to-date. Thank you for your co-operation.

A gentle reminder that the parish’s CHRISTMAS SCHEDULE of the festive liturgies is posted on our website and on all church bulletin boards. It was also given as an insert this week’s bulletin. Parishioners are encouraged to experience the deep joy of forgiveness and true inner peace this Christmas in the sacrament of reconciliation. The schedule specifies the times priests are available here in the church for reconciliation. One does not need to wait until Christmas Eve to request reconciliation!

Finally, Marie Restivo is selling her second Booklet of powerful and practical Meditative Reflections. Copies of her book, “Perspectives”, are available for purchase at $20 per copy. She has generously offered to donate all proceeds towards the electronic sign that is planning to be placed on the church lawn. Please see Marie if you are interested. 1st SUNDAY OF ADVENT (C) – December 02, 2018

Another reminder that the CHRISTMAS DINNER hosted by the SENIORS’ CLUB in our church hall will take place on Thursday, December 13th, at 12:00 noon. Please see the bulletin for details & booking information.

On Monday and Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m., priests will be available here to celebrate Advent Reconciliation for the staff and students in Our Lady of Fatima School. It is not necessary to wait until Christmas Eve to experience God’s joy in the grace of forgiveness.

The weekly Wednesday Devotions start at 6.30 pm, followed by celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 7:00 p.m. as usual. Prayer requests and intentions left in the offerings box will be included in our prayers and Mass intentions.

This Friday is First Friday. Devotions start at 12:15 pm with the Angelus prayer, Divine Mercy chaplet, holy Mass and silent Eucharistic adoration throughout the afternoon and evening. Holy Mass at 7:00 pm concludes the day’s devotions. All are encouraged to spend some time in silent adoration during the afternoon hours.

The traditional CHRISTMAS FOOD DRIVE campaign will continue until next weekend. Thank you in advance for your kind support. The next BAPTISM CELEBRATION is on Saturday, December 8, at 11:30 am. We ask parents and godparents to arrive 10 minutes early for instructions.

Kindly note that there is NO Children’s Liturgy as of next weekend. These meetings will resume in the New Year after the holidays. However, there will be an R.C.I.A. meeting on Saturday at 10:00 am in the church hall.

Finally, by way of fund-raising for the Electronic Sign Father Dominic has proposed for the front of the Church, Marie Restivo will be selling her second Booklet of powerful and practical Meditative Reflections, entitled “Perspectives.” They are original, and on her own initiative she will be giving all the proceeds to this deserving project, price for this book is $20.00 each. Today’s second collection is for the parish’s Renovations Fund. We thank you in advance for your support. We have several groups at the back of the church today. Volunteers are available to register children for this year’s CHRISTMAS PARTY. Registrations can be made this weekend and next. Details are in the insert given in this weekend’s bulletin. The Knights of Columbus are selling religious Christmas cards and tickets for the Nativity Creche raffle. Other volunteers are selling Raffle tickets for our Christmas fund-raiser. They are also launching the annual SOCK DRIVE to help the homeless and people in local shelters. We appreciate and are very grateful for your ongoing support.

Parents have until this Wednesday, November 28th to hand in their children’s registration forms for this year’s FIRST COMMUNION & CONFIRMATION classes. We cannot accept more applications after Wednesday, nor from applicants who will have difficulties attending the weekly classes in our parish. Please submit them to the office during office hours prior to this deadline.

The annual CHRISTMAS DINNER, hosted by the SENIORS’ CLUB in our church hall, will take place on Thursday, December 13th, at 12.00 noon. Please see the bulletin for details & booking information.

Today, the Church celebrates the World Day of the Poor. Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has invited all the faithful to take some time to remember our destitute brothers and sisters. It is in extending our hands towards the impoverished that our faith is strengthened and we come face to face with our living God.

This weekend’s second collection is for the Shepherds’ Trust. Your generous support is greatly appreciated. We again remind parents that the deadline to register their children in our FIRST HOLY COMMUNION and CONFIRMATION CLASSES is Wednesday, November 28. Please submit them to the office as soon as possible, during regular office hours.

This month’s community meeting for our Secular Carmelites is on Tuesday, at 7.00 pm, in the church hall. Prospective candidates looking to join are invited to attend as observers.

Parents of children in FIRST HOLY COMMUNION are once again reminded that it is imperative that he/she attends the Parish ‘s Children Liturgy every Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. leading up to May 11th, the day of First Communion. Parents of Grade 7 students are also reminded that CONFIRMATION applications are available from the office during office hours.

Grade 10 students from Jean Vanier Catholic High School have their early ADVENT RETREAT in our church hall this coming Wednesday, November 7 from 8.30 am. Kindly remember them in your prayers. There will be NO Children’s Liturgy nor a Lord’s Flock meeting next weekend due to the Pasta Night. This is the final weekend for the St. Vincent de Paul THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE. Bags with canned food and other non-perishable goods may be left on the left-hand side of the altar.

This Sunday (today) is LIFECHAIN SUNDAY. Our parish will be participating in this yearly manifestation in favour of the gift of life. Join us between 2.00 and 3.00 pm on the Danforth/Victoria Park inter-section (near Shoppers World) as we peacefully witness to and promote the culture of life.

This is the first weekend of the annual St. Vincent de Paul Thanksgiving Food Drive. Bags with canned food and other non-perishable goods may be left on the left-hand side of the altar.

THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS will be at the back of the church selling raffle tickets to increased funds for future church renovations or project.

The ASCENSION OF THE LORD (B) – May 13, 2018

Congratulations to all the boys and girls who a week ago celebrated their FIRST HOLY COMMUNION in our parish. We hope that all of them will continue to regularly share with us in the Eucharist. Parents are kindly asked to visit the office, during office hours, to order copies of the group photo.

This month’s Mass for students and staff for St. Joachim School will be on Monday, May 14 at 9:15 am. Confirmation candidates are reminded that they have a Confirmation practice here in church on Monday (tomorrow) at 1:00 pm arranged by the school. Thursday May 17 is CONFIRMATION DAY. Fr. Dominic will preside the celebration. Holy Eucharist starts at 6:30 pm and all are asked to be seated by 6:15 pm.

This month’s community meeting for the SECULAR CARMELITES is this Tuesday, May 15 at 7.00 pm. Non-members or prospective members are welcome to attend as observers.

In HONOR OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA on Wednesday May 16, evening devotions start at 6:30 pm, include the Rosary, and Holy Eucharist. Prayer requests and intentions left in the offerings box are included in our Mass intentions.

6th EASTER SUNDAY (B) – May 06, 2018

A reminder that this weekend’s second collection is for THE POPE’S PASTORAL WORKS. Our offerings support Pope Francis in his charitable works, particularly in helping people and countries in need. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

The parish’s Social Committee, will once again be hosting FITNESS & LINE DANCING SESSIONS in our church hall, every Friday from 6:00 to 7:30 pm starting May 11. The cost is $5.00 per person all proceeds will go to the parish’s Centenary Fund.

5th EASTER SUNDAY (B) – April 29, 2018

CATHOLIC EDUCATION WEEK begins today and this year’s chosen theme is: Renewing the Promise. We are all encouraged to keep praying for the students and staff of the schools in our parish and support their efforts in the Catholic education and formation of our young ones.

Cardinal Collins has designated the World Day of Prayer for Vocations in the archdiocese on May 4, 2018, let us continue to pray for more vocations to the priesthood, the diaconate and the religious life.

This Friday is the FIRST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH. Holy Eucharist begins at 12:30 p.m, and evening at 7:00 p.m. We encourage everyone to spend some time in silent adoration during the afternoon and early evening hours.

On Saturday our parish will celebrate FIRST HOLY COMMUNION for some 82 boys & girls from Catholic and other Schools. Children should be in the church hall by not later than 1:00 pm and Holy Eucharist starts at 1:30 pm. There is NO Children’s Liturgy on Sunday May 6, 2018.

4th EASTER SUNDAY (B) – April 22, 2018

A reminder that there are no classes for CHILDREN’S LITURGY, FIRST COMMUNION and CONFIRMATION classes next weekend April 28, and 29 due to the Spring Dinner & Dance Fundraising event.

This first INFANT JESUS NOVENA will be celebrated this Wednesday, April 25. A Holy Hour of prayer, song and reflection starts at 5.30 pm. The Fatima devotions will follow at 6.30 pm. Holy Eucharist is celebrated at 7.00 pm.

Students in this year’s FIRST HOLY COMMUNION class have practically completed their program. They are now in the last phase of their preparations. We ask the community to keep them, their families in your prayers.

3rd EASTER SUNDAY (B) – April 15, 2018

A reminder that the CHILDREN’S LITURGY, FIRST COMMUNION and CONFIRMATION classes resumed this weekend at the regular times.

This month’s meeting for our SECULAR CARMELITES will be on Tuesday April 17, in our church hall. The group of aspirants meet at 6.30 pm and the community meeting begins at 7.00 pm.

On Wednesday the regular FATIMA DEVOTIONS start at 6.30 pm followed by holy Eucharist at 7:00 pm.. Kindly note that prayer requests left at Our Lady’s shrine in the “Intentions Box” will be included in our prayers and Mass intentions.

Candidates in our parish’s Confirmation Class have a RETREAT/SEMINAR next Saturday April 21, starting at 10.00 am. This opportunity offers candidates some time for reflection and discussion about their life as committed Catholics, now that the day of their Confirmation is getting closer. All candidates are expected to attend.

2nd EASTER SUNDAY Divine Mercy (B) – April 08, 2018

This week, the parish’s Schools are celebrating the EASTER EUCHARIST. Our Lady of Fatima School’s Mass is on Wednesday at 9:00 am here in the church. St. Joachim’s School Mass is on Thursday at 9:15am in the school’s gym.

EASTER SUNDAY(B) – April 01, 2018

A gentle reminder that today’s second collection is our EASTER GIFT to the parish. Thank you so much for your constant and generous support. There is no CHILDREN’S LITURGY this weekend and next.

Reminder to all Grade 7’s and 8’s in this year’s confirmation program that there is a meeting on Saturday April 7 at 2:30 pm.

Monday – EASTER MONDAY – our morning Mass is at 9 o’clock. There will be a wedding celebration at 1:00 pm. Kindly note that the church and office will be closed for the rest of the day on Easter Monday.

Throughout this week of the Octave of Easter we will resume the schedule of our regular activities. On Wednesday there is no morning Mass and our evening FATIMA DEVOTIONS start at 6.30 pm followed by Eucharistic Celebration. Friday is FIRST FRIDAY; there is no morning Mass but we have 12:30 pm and 7:00 pm Holy Mass.

PALM SUNDAY OF THE LORD’S PASSION – March 25, 2018

A big THANK YOU from SHARELIFE for your support in the first collection of this year’s campaign. May we remind you of the special collection on GOOD FRIDAY – that is this coming Friday – for the NEEDS OF THE CHURCH IN THE HOLY LAND. Funds collected are used for the upkeep of the sanctuaries and to help the pastoral works and schools and other social work carried out by the Catholic Church in these territories. Use the envelopes in your box of donation envelopes or pick up one from the tables at all church entrances. God will surely reward your generous hearts.

At 11 o’clock on Tuesday morning His Eminence Cardinal Collins will preside at the CHRISM MASS in St. Michael’s Cathedral during which the Sacramental Oils are blessed. All are very welcome to attend.

In our church, Thursday’s MASS OF THE LORD’S LAST SUPPER begins at 7.30 pm. On GOOD FRIDAY, we have two celebrations of the LORD’S PASSION AND DEATH, the first one starting at 12.00 noon and the second one at 3.00 pm. The STATIONS OF THE CROSS are prayed at 7.00 pm. Next Sunday is Easter therefore we remind parents that there are no classes for FIRST COMMUNION and CONFIRMATION, and there is no CHILDREN’S LITURGY on Easter Sunday. Kindly note that the OFFICE will be closed from this Thursday [Holy Thursday] afternoon until the following Monday [Easter Monday]. We will re-open at the regular hours on Tuesday after Easter.

A gentle reminder that at the end of Mass today, when all ministers and servers have returned to the sacristy, the Ushers will be giving out BLESSED PALMS to those present that want them. 5th SUNDAY OF LENT – March 18, 2018

A gentle reminder that today’s 2nd collection is our first contribution to the 2018 SHARELIFE CAMPAIGN. We thank you in advance for your generosity and support. 4th SUNDAY OF LENT – March 11, 2018

Due to the Schools’ March Break there are NO CLASSES in the Confirmation and First Holy Communion programs this weekend and next. The Children’s Liturgy will also be cancelled. But The Lord’s Flock prayer group however, still has its regular prayer meeting today at 2:00 pm.

This weekend is the St. Vincent de Paul BUNDLE UP WEEKEND. The container will be parked by the rectory from Friday through to Sunday. It will be open during the day only and please do not leave bundles on the outside of the container.

The regular Fatima Devotions on Wednesday start at 6:30 pm and include the Rosary and holy Mass. Prayer requests and intentions left at Our Lady’s statue or in the offerings box at the shrine are included in our Mass intentions.

A reminder that during this holy season of Lent we pray the STATIONS OF THE CROSS every Friday at 6.30 pm. Mass follows at 7.00 pm. There is a morning Mass at 8 o’clock as usual.

Candidates in the RCIA program have their final session next Saturday at 10:00 am; on Sunday they will join us again for the 3rd Scrutiny during the 12:15 Mass.

Once again this Lenten season is being marked in our Toronto Archdiocese with a DAY OF CONFESSIONS. This will be next Thursday, March 15. All churches will be open during particular times and priests will be available to administer the sacrament of reconciliation. Kindly see the bulletin for details about this celebration in our church. The HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE is also in this week’s bulletin. Make sure to pick up a copy on your way out and keep it for future reference.

Finally, we have today the annual SHARELIFE APPEAL as we prepare to start this year’s campaign. The first collection for ShareLife will be during all of next weekend’s Masses. This year’s Appeal is given by Mr. Patrick Callahan.


3rd SUNDAY OF LENT – March 04, 2018

Once again the volunteers are at the back of church for Cardinal Collins and bishops across Ontario are asking for an email address from every Catholic family in their community, with a goal of 100,000 email addresses collected by the end of February 2018. This information will be used locally by Cardinal Collins and trusted faith partners to communicate periodically (approximately 6-8 times each year) on issues of particular importance for the Catholic community.

This weekend is the last chance for parishioners to pick up their 2017 Tax Receipts at the back of the church. Kindly collect them on your way out of church after Masses. After this weekend, receipts may only picked up from the office during office hours only.

This Wednesday March 7, the Grade 10 students from Jean Vanier Catholic High School will have a Lenten Retreat in our church hall from 8am to 3pm. The regular Fatima Devotions on Wednesday start at 6:30 pm and include the Rosary and holy Mass. Prayer requests and intentions left at Our Lady’s statue or in the offerings box at the shrine are included in our Mass intentions.

The Catholic Schools in our parish are celebrating their Lenten Reconciliation and First Reconciliation for the Grade 2s in the coming days. On Friday, from 5:15 to 6:30 pm, priests will be available here in the church to administer reconciliation to Grade 2s in Public Schools attending our First Communion program.

The next St. Vincent de Paul BUNDLE U P WEEKEND is scheduled for the weekend of March 10/11. Please, do not leave bags in the stairwell outside the St. Vincent de Paul premised as our storage place is already full we are unable to accept your bundles earlier. Thank you for your co-operation.

The office of Vocations invites young men in grade 11 and 12 to a day retreat at St. Augustine’s Seminary, Toronto, on Saturday, March 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The day provides time to pray, interact & socialize with other young Catholic men. Seminarians will offer reflections on practical aspects of faith. Registration for this retreat is to be done online at www.vocationstoronto.ca. Another reminder that every Friday evening, during the Lenten season, we will pray the STATIONS OF THE CROSS at 6:30 pm followed by Eucharist Celebration at 7:00 pm. And due to these Masses, the Fitness & Fun for Line Dancing has been POSTPONED until further notice which is after Lent.

The 2017 TAX RECEIPTS are available for pick up from the back of the church after Mass for parishioners who requested them. Receipts may always be picked up from the office on weekdays during office hours.

Finally, on February 24, 25 and March 3, and 4, Cardinal Collins and bishops across Ontario are asking for an email address from every Catholic family in their community, with a goal of 100,000 email addresses collected by the end of February 2018. This information will be used locally by Cardinal Collins and trusted faith partners to communicate periodically (approximately 6-8 times each year) on issues of particular importance for the Catholic community. 6th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME [B] – February 11, 2018

As we continue to enjoy celebrating MARRIAGE SUNDAY, let us keep all married couples and other couples planning to get married in the coming months in our prayers. We wish all of them a very happy and blessed day.

This Wednesday is ASH WEDNESDAY – a day of fasting and abstinence at the start of the penitential season of Lent. The special schedule for the weeks of Lent is posted on all the bulletin boards and in the bulletin. On Wednesday, there will be Eucharist celebration at 12:30 pm in the afternoon. In the evening, Stations of the Cross begins at 6:30pm followed by Holy Mass. The blessing and imposition of ashes will be celebrated during both the noon and evening Masses.

Every Friday (except First Friday) starting this Friday during the season of Lent, we will have morning Mass at 8 o’clock as usual. Then, at 6.30 in the evening, we will pray together the Stations of the Cross followed by the celebration of the Eucharist at 7.00 pm.

Next Sunday Bishop Vincent Win will preside at the RITE OF ELECTION for candidates in RCIA programs from our region. This will take place at St. Isaac Joques Parish in Pickering starting at 2.00 pm. Candidates, their sponsors and their families are all welcome to attend. Again, we ask parishioners to keep all candidates in their prayers as they continue their preparation.

We would like to apologize for the delay in issuing the 2017 TAX RECEIPTS. They will be available for pick up from the back of the church next weekend for parishioners who requested them. Receipts may be picked up from the office on weekdays during office hours only.

The KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS would like to extend the invitation; to all men and their family who would like to know more about the Knights of Columbus; to attend an informative meeting on Saturday February 17th at 2:00 pm at the Knights Chambers in the basement of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Hope to see all of you who signed for the meeting and anyone else who did not sign-up but is willing to spend an hour with us. The information will be beneficial to all the parish. Thank you.

Finally, a gentle reminder that next weekend, because of the long FAMILY DAY weekend, there are no meetings for the RCIA, CHILDREN’S LITURGY or THE LORD’S FLOCK groups; and there are no classes in the CONFIRMATION or FIRST COMMUNION programs; they will resume on February 24th and 25th . 5th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME [B] – February 04, 2018

Kindly note that this weekend’s second collection is the annual FUEL OFFERING for the church. We thank you in advance for your generous support.

Our Social Committee will be hosting WEEKLY LINE DANCING in the Parish Hall every Friday evening from 6:00-7:30 pm, starting on Friday February 23, 2018, Beginner or Pro come out and shake a leg, have fun and meet new friends.

On Wednesday the regular Fatima Devotions begin at 6:30 pm and include the Rosary, other novena prayers and holy Mass. Prayer requests and intentions left in the ‘offerings box’ at the shrine are included in our Mass intentions.

On February 17 at 2:00 pm, the KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS will have their information night at the Parish hall. Our Lady of Fatima needs you. Let us all work together for a better tomorrow.

A gentle reminder that next weekend our archdiocese will celebrate Marriage Sunday at Blessed Trinity Church at 3:00 pm. The RCIA class on Saturday at 10:00 am as usual. 4th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME [B] – January 28, 2018

Our next Baptism celebration is on Saturday, February 3rd at 10:30 am. We have a BAPTISM PREPARATION MEETING for parents and godparents this Monday at 7.00 pm here in the church.

The regular Fatima Devotions on Wednesday start at 6:30 pm and include the Rosary and holy Mass. Prayer requests and intentions left at Our Lady’s statue or in the offerings box at the shrine are included in our Mass intentions.

This Friday February 2nd is the feast of the PRESENTATION OF THE LORD, also known as CANDLEMAS. There will be a mass at 12:30 pm as usual. In the evening, Mass begins at 7:00 pm, concluding with the traditional blessing of candles.
It is also First Friday. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will follow the 12:30 pm Holy Mass. There is a sign-up sheet for Silent Adoration times, on the table by the Baptismal Font. Starting on Friday February 2nd, we encourage all those who are able, to spend some quiet time with Jesus, the Lord, in the Real Presence, exposed on the altar. Times are divided into half-hours from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Please sign your name to as many times as you wish. In this way, we can ensure that the Lord always has company and we are answering his call: “could you not say awake with me one hour?” (Matt. 26:40).

Next weekend, we celebrate MARRIAGE SUNDAY. Let us pray for newly married couples and other couples preparing to celebrate their marriage in the coming months; may the good Lord help them in keeping their marriage union strong and holy.

There will be a second collection called the Fuel Offering on the weekend of February 3rd and 4th during all Masses. The recent cold weather has increased our fuel bills. Your generous support is greatly appreciated.

3rd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME [B] – January 21, 2018

This Monday [tomorrow] we have the monthly SCHOOL MASS for staff and students from Our Lady of Fatima School at 12:30 pm here in the church. This month’s Mass for St. Joachim School is on Thursday January 25 at 1:00 p.m.

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity continues this week January 21st . In conclusion to this prayer week all are invited to join Cardinal Collins and other city-wide religious leaders. Ecumenical Prayer Service at Metropolitan United Church starting at 3:00 pm next Sunday. There is more information about this posted on our bulletin boards at church entrances.

This WORLD DAY FOR CONSECRATED LIFE is a wonderful opportunity for us to thank God for the gifts of these religious sisters, brothers, and priests, and to pray for God blessings upon them in their efforts of faithfully live the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience. Bishop Wayne Kirkpatrick will preside at a special Mass on Sunday January 28, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Basilica, 83 Power St. Toronto in celebration of the vocation and witness of these special men and women religious who are such a vital and important part of the life and ministry of the Church in our Archdiocese. All are welcome to attend.

Some boxes for the 2018 Donation Envelopes are still uncollected at the church office. Parishioners who are no longer interested in taking their box should notify the office as soon as possible. Unclaimed boxes will be re-assigned to new parishioners if still uncollected by the middle of next month.

The KNIGHT OF COLUMBUS are having a recruitment drive the weekend of January 27/28. To learn more about the Knight of Columbus, we encourage all men in the parish to consider talking to one of the Knights who will be available for your questions and concerns at the entrance of the church after the mass on that weekend.

Finally, Grade 7 students, already registered in our Confirmation Program, are invited with their families to attend and participate in the Enrolment Ceremony taking place next Saturday January 27 during the 4:30 pm Mass. 2nd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME [B] – January 14, 2018

The CONFIRMATION APPLICANTS meeting is on Friday January 19th at 7:00 pm together with their parents in the church hall. The CHILDREN’S LITURGY will resume this Sunday at 10:30 am Mass.

This Sunday [today] our Archdiocese is celebrating THE WORLD DAY OF MIGRANTS AND REFUGEES. Celebrant will be Bishop Bawai Soro and Homilist is Bishop Wayne Kirkpatrick will preside at 1:00 pm Mass at Good Shepherd Chaldean Cathedral Parish, 2 High Meadow Place, and North York. All are welcome.

This month’s community meeting for the SECULAR CARMELITES is this Tuesday, January 16 in our church hall at 7.00 pm.

The annual WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY starts Thursday, January 18 to 25, 2018. Everyone is invited to join in an Ecumenical Prayer Service next Sunday, with His Eminence Thomas Cardinal Collins, Anglican Archbishop Colin Johnson, Coptic Orthodox Bishop Anba Mina, and other city-wide religious leaders. The venue is at Metropolitan United Church, 56 Queen Street East on Queen and Bond Street. The homilist is His Eminence Cardinal Thomas Collins.

The principal Of Our Lady of Fatima School, Mr. Kevin Kerr, would like to draw the attention of all those concerned, that The Kindergarden registration for O.L.F. School is on January 17th, and it can be done online starting at 10:00 am (all day). Your cooperation is very much appreciated.

THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD (B) – January 07, 2018

The FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CANDIDATES will have their initial meeting on January 12 at 7:00 p.m., and for CONFIRMATION APPLICANTS is on January 19th at 7:00 pm, with their parents in the church hall. Weekly gatherings for CHILDREN’S LITURGY will start next Sunday January 14 at 10:30 Mass.

Some boxes of the 2018 DONATION ENVELOPES are still uncollected on the tables at the back of the church. Please remember that we have started using these envelopes as of January 1st. As of this next week the boxes will be available for pick up only from the office, during regular office. All parishioners are kindly asked to inform the office of any changes to their PERSONAL DATA to help us for preparing for the TAX Receipts.
